Care and Maintenance

How do I care for my kitchen furniture?
  • Wipe away any spillages immediately from horizontal & vertical surfaces internally / externally.
  • Thoroughly clean and inspect moving components ( hinges, drawer guides etc. ) on a regular basis, keeping them free of dust, grime and dirt that may accumulate over time.
  • To avoid damages, marks, scruffs and scrapes do not place keys, sharp objects, electrical equipment or a heat source directly on furniture tops and surfaces.
  • For protection and to avoid damages, toughened clear glass tops are highly recommended on all furniture tops : Lockers, Chest of drawers, Dressing tables, Desks, TV units etc.
  • Avoid leaving doors and drawers open unnecessarily, closing them when finished will keep all areas clear of obstructions and accidental damage being caused.
  • Do not overload cabinets, shelves, drawers or any other internal storage solution beyond its stated weight capacity and this will cause damage to certain components and also restrict doors and drawers from closing fully.
  • Over time and especially with new build dwellings, caulk used along with infill surrounds to side walls and ceilings can crack and become loose because of settlement, this can also affect margins between doors which can fixed by an adjustment to the door hinges.
  • When cleaning doors and cabinets both internally and externally only use a clean soft lightly dampened cloth along with a mild detergent, avoid over wetting and do not use an abrasive cleaner, petroleum or solvent based cleaners or anything containing harsh chemicals. When finished wipe down with a clean dry cloth to remove any excess moisture.
  • Extractor Fans
Always turn on and use the appropriate setting when cooking, never use your hob without extracting out the steam from pots and pans as this will cause a build up of moisture that can cause damage to wall cabinets, pelmets and doors. If not extracted out through the wall your fan will contain a charcoal filter that will need replacing at certain intervals depending on usage.
  • Dishwashers
Always ensure the full cycle or program has finished before opening the door of your dishwasher, allowing your cutlery to fully dry and the steam inside to cool and disperse. On new dishwashers some programs open the door in advance automatically. THIS MUST BE CHANGED IN THE SETTINGS MENU as constant hot steam and moisture can cause extreme damage to worktops and doors over a prolonged period of time.
